The self is nothing. ‘You’ are nothing. An individual is nothing more than a collection of thoughts, ideals, and impulses all driven by proteins on a substrate of carbon. Memes powered by hydrocarbons operating on a platform of flesh. So what is ‘You’? An illusion, rather a delusion of a diseased culture, you are noting more than highly organized sand, organic chemistry operating at it's maximum. Our existence, our civilization, or culture, our ‘selves’ are noting more than the product of a single mindless imperative. That of matter, it's need to assimilate all other matter onto itself, chemical imperialism with carbon as it’s Grand Empress. From carbon chains to hydrocarbons, from complex polymers to ribosomes, from simple algae to complex eukaryotic animals, DNA to the memes of the mind; all of these things are chemical imperialism in effect: the edict of carbon. Driven by emergence, inheritance and other self-organizing principles the law is in full force. What is ‘You’ then? A product of chemical imperialism and the output of a diseased culture, you are nothing, you will fade into the ether just as quickly as you came and just as silently. Such is the will of carbon, such is the destiny of (wo)man. That’s all you need to know, please continue with your meaningless existence ^.^ .
